| Description |
| The electric VGT control actuator is Installed in the turbocharger |
| The VGT actuator operates the vane mechanism of the turbocharger by the PWM signal of the ECM, which controls the supercharge amount. |
It consists of a DC motor, a 2-step gear, a position sensor, an electric control unit and a reset spring.![]() |
| Removal |
| Disconnect the battery negative ( – ) terminal. |
Remove the engine cover (A).![]() |
Disconnect the electric VGT actuator connector (A).![]() |
Separate the actuator rod (A) after removing the retaining ring (B).![]() Be careful of loss when removing the retaining ring. |
| Remove the wiring bracket (A) by removing the bolt. Tightening torque :9.8 – 11.8 N·m (1.0 – 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 – 8.7 lb·ft) ![]() |
| Remove the electric VGT control actuator (A) after removing the bolts. Tightening torque :7.8 – 11.8 N·m (0.8 – 1.2 kgf·m, 5.8 – 8.7 lb·ft) ![]() |
| Installation |
| Install in the reverse order of removal. |
| Reset the ECM adaptive value after replacing the electric VGT control actuator.(S/W Management → Engine Control → Essential work after component replacement) |
